The Blue Coat AV 3.1.x release provides anti-virus (AV)
scanning capabilities for Web traffic (HTTP, HTTPS) and FTP over HTTP. It
requires a deployment where a Blue Coat ProxySG serves as an Internet Content
Adaptation Protocol (ICAP) client.
The Blue Coat ProxyAV provides AV scanning engines from
various, selectable vendors. The following vendors are supported in the Blue
Coat AV 3.1.2.1 release:
- Network Associates - McAfee (with spyware detection)
- Sophos (with spyware detection)
- Panda Software (with spyware detection)
- Kaspersky Labs (with spyware detection)
- AhnLab
Note: Vendor options
are not identical.

Instructions section and review the Limitations and Known Issues
section.

To make use of the new enhancements in this release, the Blue Coat ProxyAV
must be paired with a Blue Coat ProxySG that is running the following SGOS
release:

SGOS 4.1: version 4.1.3.1 or later

SGOS 4.2: version 4.2.1.1 or later

SOGS 5.1: version 5.1.1.1 or later
-
SOGS 5.2: version 5.2.1.1 or later
Upgrading to AV 3.1x is not automatic. For deployments where Blue
Coat ProxyAV appliances have direct Internet access, you must:

Initiate an update from the Blue Coat ProxyAV Management
Console Firmware Update page.

Retrieve an AV vendor license from WebPower. You can
initiate this process from the Licensing page (formerly Subscriptions). If you
are deploying the Blue Coat ProxyAV appliance into a closed network, the
appliance must have direct Internet access to download the 3.1.x
software.
The Blue Coat AV 3.1.2.1 release contains the following known issue:

You can upgrade this version to 3.1.2.x or greater, but
you should not downgrade it. If you think it is necessary to downgrade,
please contact
